Thank You Carol Serpa
For your years of commitment!
Your devotion to the Church in designing and carrying out the decorating of St. Mary’s environment over the past 32+ years is sincerely commendable and a true blessing. Your commitment, persistence, enthusiasm and hard work did not go unnoticed by the parishioners, pastors and staff. It is truly amazing how you were able to coordinate and transform the church from one liturgical season to the next, often overnight. The themes and decorations gave an opportunity to the community to have a deeper awareness of God’s creation. Monsignor Patrick Doherty, Monsignor Tom, Monsignor Ray, Father Eric and Ruthanne always knew the church would be transformed and ready for worship for the variety of Liturgical seasons in harmony with the Church calendar. We were able to enter into the different seasons: Advent, Christmas, Lent, Holy Week, Easter, Ordinary time and solemnities such as Corpus Christi or Pentecost as well as extraordinary parish celebrations such as Fatima knowing that a beautiful environment would reflect that particular Liturgical celebration. We are well aware of the many hours of coordination that went into your well thought-out environment. Once the planning was complete, the task of executing the design began with the assistance of other parishioners volunteering to help; even if you were the only one who showed up, you always took the utmost care that every detail was tended to.
Carol, “Thank You” for ensuring that our church has been a liturgically correct, reverent, and prayerful environment throughout the years. You will be greatly missed in this ministry!
