New Church Update
New Church Building Committee Finalizing Architect, Contractor and Loan
Building Committee Report
The Building Committee is still hard at work moving the St. Charles New Church Building Project along and keeping on pace for a late 2019 opening.
A request for quotes went out to several local contractors to bid on the project. The Building Committee will request two to three of those contractors to come in for interviews before a final selection is made.
The Church Architect entered into a final contract with the Diocese and the parish is pleased to continue working with Dennis Townsend and his team.
As for financing the project, a request to pursue a loan was approved by the Bishop last month and the committee expects the loan to be in place by March 2018. The loan will be used as needed once the already raised $2,000,00 is used.
The Fundraising Committee is also being formed at this time and is expected to get into full swing early 2018. This fundraising effort known as the Capital Campaign will be the parish’s method of paying back the construction loan.
The Interior Design committee has also been formed at this time and will soon meet to plan what the inside of the church will look like, including art, stained glass and lighting details.
The Building Committee will meet again on Nov. 21 and an update on the project will be provided after.
